The National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth is currently experiencing a baby boom as two species of seahorse have given birth to young within a few weeks on one another.
The Spotted Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) and Big Belly Seahorse (Hippocampus abdominalis) offspring are no bigger than a human fingernail but in adulthood will expect to reach 12 cms and 25 cms respectively.
